I WOKE UP TODAY IN HEAVEN

Posted on by Donna Sue

A Keaton

I woke up today in heaven,

And Jesus took my hand.

I didn’t need my wheelchair,

I could move my feet and stand.

I heard the sound of angels

Singing praises to the Lord,

Not the oxygen machines

Upon the children’s center floor.

It was then I took my first step,

And I ran for the first time,

Straight to the arms of Jesus where

He placed his head on mine.

Welcome home to glory, Keaton.

I’ve been waiting for a while,

To have you here in heaven

And to see your perfect smile.

I heard a voice call out my name,

I grinned and turned to stare

At my little brother Jordan who

Was laughing, standing there.

Hello, brother, he said to me,

As we hugged for the first time.

Come on and meet your family.

Then I looked at that long line.

A man walked up and shook my hand;

He smiled and gave a nod.

Hello Son, I’ve missed you,

I am your Papa Bob.

Hey, guys don’t grieve my passing.

I am healthy, happy and brand new!

So TALK to me, I’m listening,

I’m praying here for you.
