O BLOOD OF JESUS

Posted on by Donna Sue

Oh Blood of Jesus

I knelt before the Eucharist,

My head bowed deep in prayer.

My thoughts turned toward His agony;

Of pain so hard to bear.

His crimson blood and salt filled tears,

His tortured ragged breath,

The sinful life I’d led for years,

Played out before his death.

O Blood of Jesus flowing down

Upon the cross, upon the ground.

You drop like tears on Mary’s hand

You sink into Golgotha’s sand.

O blood of life, O gift of love,

You come to me from Christ above,

Nailed to a tree, from wounds you seep,

Please cleanse my heart, my soul to keep.

In thanksgiving then I bowed once more,

Before the Holy Host.

Before the Triune Father God,

Son and the Holy Ghost.

Before the cup of precious blood,

Poured out to give me life.

My Jesus come to save my soul,

Beyond all sacrifice.

O Blood of Jesus flowing down,

Upon the cross, upon the ground.

You drop like tears on Mary’s hand,

You sink into Gogotha’s sand.

O Blood of life, O gift of love,

You come to me from Christ above.

Nailed to a tree from wounds you seep,

Please cleanse my heart, my soul to keep.

One Response to O BLOOD OF JESUS

I am sure you know this Donna, but Jesus wrote a letter to St Elizabeth, St Matilda and St Bridget.that if you keep a copy of the letter on your person you will be free from a death by drowning and sudden death. They shall be free from all contagious diseases and lightning; they shall not die without confession, and shall be free from their enemies and from the hand of wrongful authority and from all their slanderers and false witnesses. In the houses where this oration is kept, no evil thing will ever happen; and forty days before the death of a person who has this oration about hhim or her, the Blessed Virgin will appear to him or her. So said St Gregoriur.

To all those faithful who shall recite for 3 years, each day 2 Our Fathers, Hail Marys and Glory Be to the Fathers, in honor of the drops of blood I lost, I will concede the following 5 graces:

1. The plenary indulgence and remittance of y our sins.

2. You will be free from the pains of purgatory.

3. If you should die before completing
the said 3 years, for you it will be the same as if you had completed them.

4. It will be upon your death the same as if you had shed all your blood for the holy faith.

5. I will descend from heaven to take your soul and that of your relatives, until the fourth generation.

And then it goes on to tell how many drops of blood he shed during his passion.

This is all in the little Blue Pieta Prayer Book.
